Hey guys,

I'm updating the TS3 server from version 3.0.6.1 to version 3.0.7.

This update to the server requires you to use the new 3.0.10 client. Without the new client you cannot connect to the server.

Please be sure to update your TS3 client. This is usually done automatically when you start TS3, but it can be force checked in the Help menu.

=== Server Release 3.0.7 4 March 2013
! extended max possible permissions, newer client will be needed to use
this server release
! permissionlist command got a new parameter "-new", if set the permissionlist
will be sent in a new format
+ bans got some magic to prevent abusing
+ temporary server passwords work also if no virtualserver password is set
+ added permissions b_channel_create_modify_with_codec_opusvoice, b_channel_create_modify_with_codec_opusmusic
- fixed bug where guest users could trigger "channel edited" or
"server edited" events although they had no permissions to edit channels
or servers
- fixed problems with avatar deletion
- fixed an assert while banning yourself
- fixed folders could not be deleted
- virtualserver temporary passwords are checked before normal virtualserverpassword
- fixed bug with permission b_channel_create_modify_with_force_password
- fixed bug with server deletion and not-existing filebase
- fixed bug where icon deletion went wrong
- TSDNS server is now case-insensitive
- fixed a hang due to too many open handles in TSDNS
- fixed missing serverquery commands in help.txt
- fixed complainlist does not work anymore if an client was deleted

Update completed successfully. Server is up and running again.

Installed some OS updates at the same time. All is good now.

Looks like one of the big changes is the addition of this Opus codec. I'm going to change the BF3 channels to use this Opus codec. Please let me know if you hear any differences in audio quality. It's using 1kb/s more bandwidth.

Anything of note in the update?

Looked into it further myself and it seems TS3 now supports a new codec called Opus.
I see some of the channels are now using Opus, but some aren't is there any reason why?

Look at my posts above yours. The change log and information on the Opus usage on the server is there.

According to the developers of speex opus is better in every way, even at lower bit rates the quality is supposed to be better and with less delay.
