Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
Hey guys,
I've been up since 7am getting the new TS3 server running for you all to try out.
You'll need to download the new TS3 client.
** Please check the version of your client, updates have been released. http://www.teamspeak.com
** Since Beta8 you can use the auto-update feature built into TS3. From the Help menu select "Check for updates". Follow the onscreen instructions.
Once you've installed the client you can connect to our server.
** I've created an installation and configuration video. Please watch the video and follow the instructions to get the best experience from TS3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvDfuJFbxYg

I've mirrored all the channels from Ventrilo to TS3. The layout is the same, but just to note one thing, when you join a channel, if it has sub-channels, you will appear below the sub-channels, not above them like in Ventrilo. I'm looking into this to see if it can be changed as it is a little confusing.
The voice quality is amazing now. TeamSpeak2 had some old audio codec's that made your voice sound pretty crappy, but the new TeamSpeak3 has some really decent codec's. I tested it quickly with JRAY, and we both agreed that TeamSpeak3 sounded better than Ventrilo. Much crisper and clearer.
I would really appreciate it if you guys could take some time to test out the new TeamSpeak and see what you think of it. Please post your opinions in this thread.
I'm going on vacation as of tonight. So I will not be online for just over a week. I'll be able to check on the message boards, but will not be able to join Ventrilo or TeamSpeak. I will be giving HiredGun full admin privileges so he can work on the server, and help get things setup.

One little hiccup I've found is that my name and therefore many other's names are too long.
Names can only be 20 characters long.

Re: Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
Just found out that the name length will be increased from 20 characters to 30 characters for the beta 3 release. Not sure when that will occur. I'll keep you guys updated when I find out.

Re: Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
I've been testing it with UnusualShadow today and so far it seems great. Do you know how to enable spatial sound for it in TF2? I have "Always set clients 3D positions when available" turned on in the playback options but when shadow and I tried it on the server there was no difference.

Re: Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
I'm not sure how this works yet, it may require a client side plugin, or it may require me to do something special on how the 3D sound is setup. I've honestly not been able to look that far into it yet.
I have gotten a non-profit license for the server, which is supposed to allow up to 512 clients, but for some strange reason, it's still saying max clients is only 32. This is what I'm working on right now.

Thanks mimic...
when you are confident we should switch let us know...
Do you have any idea when the non-beta is due to release?
Will we be able to host it on a regular web server? (like lethalbrigade.com)

Re: Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
I don't know when the non-beta will be released, but it seems like the TS3 development team have been furiously fixing bugs as they're reported.
There are a few things I'm concerned about, in regards to switching to it right now. Mainly the fact that in some of the past server updates there have been modifications to the database structure. The last update to do this was beta5, we're now at beta10 for the server side.
I'd honestly like to see a lot more people on TS3 at one time using it. We really haven't stress tested it. The most I've ever seen online at one time was 4.
As far as giving it a lethalbrigade.com address, that is possible, you'd set it up the same way you setup the "vent.lethalbrigade.com" address. We can go over that later today.

Run the installer, and the client as Administrator.
What version of Windows are you running? What client version did you download?

Re: Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
well i fixed my teamspeak problem and i am now able to connect to it. I dont really know what was wrong but instead of clicking on the icon on the desktop i opened it up from the toolbar and it worked that way. A little more work but i got it running.

Re: Lethal Brigade TeamSpeak 3 Server Running
Is there any way to see who is in which channel without actually being in the channel?
for some reason you cannot post a reply from the "view new posts" because it is linked to the "Welcome to Lethal Brigade Forums!" part of the forum which all posts are locked.
